Playrd my last match on clay for this year. Lost yesterday 64 61 to Diarra. Tough conditions out there and i wasn't tough enough. Heading home today to recharge the batteries for a few days before some training on hardcourts. My next tournament will be Stockholm ATP which starts 12th October. No more dirty socks at least!

From Alex's page.

Alex always comes across as a very honest guy, no moaning and making excuses. Sounds like it wasn't quite firing for him yesterday.

Got to like his style.

"Can't hack it in the Futures so I will try an ATP event instead"   wink

The way his form has been this year, he will probably go and win the thing.

Alex the enigma.  Go Alex.

That's right. He's a "racquet chucked into the net at the end" kind of guy, as much with relief/joy after great wins as frustration after bad losses. But he never seems to react in a nasty way, and always seems to be honest about his own performance, also giving credit to the opponent where it's deserved. There appear to be 1 or 2 "prima donnas" among the up and coming GB men (who I'm sure will grow out of it in time), but Alex comes across as a hard-working, business-like pro who has clearly worked hard and improved his game this year with some notable performances - even if he seems to have drawn a complete blank in Futures (where he ought to be cutting swathes through the opposition even at 80-90% of his level in Challengers).

Hard not to like him for his approach.
