RE: Week 40 - Kuwait F3 ($10,000) - Meshref (Hard)

Well, both Marcus' and Lewis' matches are going along VERY fast :

Marcus up 6-1 5-0 and Lewis down 6-0 3-0

Apparently, Lewis has retired. Do hope he's OK. Let us know A1 if you get a chance:

QF: (1) Tak Khunn Wang (FRA) WR 333 def. (6) Lewis Burton WR 694 6-0 3-0 reitred

marcus' score has frozen for the last five minutes, at MP (40-15 up at 6-1 5-0 up).

My guess is he's won but the umpire's forgotten to push the last button on his little machine (it happened last week somewhere else too and is easily done).

In the other QFs, Klec and Weissborn have won easily (although there was another retirement in Weissborn's match)

GB No8 after next week?

Well done again to Marcus.

Re his doubles, I believe he is most certainly not "GB's most talented doubles player". Yes, he is on the rise and one can argue where he places in the line of doubles specialists currently ranked well ahead of him. But ahead of Andy Murray ? Well, no !

Admirable enthusiasm maybe sometimes needs to meet reality.

I think so. Unless Dave (or anyone else) is playing Challengers that week i.e. with the potential to score points that count in the same week.

Ah, you beat me to the draw, Steven - again!    For the record, Weissborn has his own web site & styles himself "Sam".  A wise decision, methinks!

Congrats again to Marcus, and hoping that Lewis's decision was nothing more than "tactical" to reserve some energy for the doubles.

I don't think you understand. This is a guy with the potential to win Grand Slams in doubles - I think Gary is likely to know, he's funding Marcus.

A1, kindly refrain from aiming such unpleasant - & unwarranted - personal insults at other members of this board or you'll quickly find yourself banned from using it.  Oh, & cut out the verbal diarrhoea while you're at it! furious

Let me tell you if Marcus did not have the talent why would I be wasting my time !

If you know anything about me in business you would know that I believe in investing in young people with the right talent not wasting money . After Murray the 2 most talented players in GB or Dan Evans & Marcus Willis Period .
