In the first 10 games, both players had 7 break points but Castro took 5/7 and saved 7/7, hence the 6-0 4-0 score. However, Lewis has just won a game - 0-6 1-4*

That's a good result. Ken's obviously a very talented youngster but Marcus won more comfortably, on paper, this time than last.
In the next round, he's got either an unranked 17 year-old local lad or a lucky loser unranked 21 year-old (match not played yet) so it shouldn't be too tricky.

Yes, the 'points coming off' phenomenon is a huge big deal which is often easy to overlook i.e. we think that a player has to play better in order to go up 100 places whereas sometimes, they just have to play the same, because they've got a blank three months, say, and all the points are net gains.
Dave Rice is one of those with practically zero points to defend before the year-end,, and playing reasonably, so may well surprise people with where he ends up. Dan Cox is the obvious 'high flyer' example of someone with the possibility for a great year-end. (and Dan E too) Ed Corrie has nothing to defend either but is not in great form. Alex is playing well but with a lot of points to defend. And the list goes on.
If Marcus is not really playing again after this week (big fitness block ? getting his back treated?) then I don;t see him making the top 5 but I haven't done the math and he's got huge potential so why not ?. But it's certainly going to be an interesting end to the year.
