A1, kindly refrain from aiming such unpleasant - & unwarranted - personal insults at other members of this board or you'll quickly find yourself banned from using it.  Oh, & cut out the verbal diarrhoea while you're at it! furious

But its alright for you to call to French lads FROGS on the French thread.

Façon de parler, as they say, Hoss.  I speak the language fluently & some of my best friends are Frogs.  No malice aforethought! wink

I still think that it was a bit out of order for Gary to accuse good posters of being as thick as plankton or whatever he said.

It was indeed out of order but it is what we have come to expect from Gary. I appreciate what he is doing for Marcus, a player that I have long held in high esteem, but his conduct on this forum has been disgraceful.

If you are going down the academic snob route, please get your punctuation right.  'thats' is a contraction of 'that is' so there should be an apostrophe to denote the missing letter - that's.

Yes, but look at those big teeth on the icon in your message . . . I've heard all about wolves with big teeth and grandmas . . . (not that I'm a grandma but you can't be too careful . . . .)

Well done Lewis and Marcus! - you'll have to put some more shelves up for all these trophies

Yes Your right they will need more than shelves when they too lads have finished cleaning up.

Marcus has won 19 of his last 20 doubles matches!

Won in Wrexham With Coupland.

Won In Sheffield With Lewis.

Won In Roehampton With Lewis.

Won In Kuwait F1 With Lewis.

Lost In Final Kuwait F2 With Lewis.

Won In Kuwait F3 With Lewis.

5 Doubles Titles In 6 Weeks is good going.

So thats 6 doubles titles this year has anybody won more than him this year.

Lewis has won 16 of his last 17 doubles matches

Won In Sheffield With Lewis.

Won In Roehampton With Lewis.

Won In Kuwait F1 With Lewis.

Lost In Final Kuwait F2 With Lewis.

Won In Kuwait F3 With Lewis.

4 doubles titles in 5 weeks.

They are still both young and learning, Can you see these as a double pairing that will win more titles as they both mature and learn. Its not a bad year so far for both of them. Things can only get better. If the LTA gave them a few hours each week with one of their top coaches they would become ever better.

What do you think !!

Well done, Marcus, you have now exceeded my points goal for your trip (20 points) - I bet that was REALLY on your mind! :) Good luck in the final.

I second that, this board has never been so much fun (at least not since Vandenburg stopped posting).  These Kuwait threads have seen about as many replies as the British 10Ks, despite just 3 Brits here.

I may not agree with what you're saying, but A1 tennis academy, you're a star!

It's incredibly hard to get the hump with someone who clearly cares so much about British tennis at both club level and elite pro level, invests so much of his time and money in supporting the game, and whose efforts have helped at least one good player really start to put all that potential to good use on the tennis court. And I'm delighted to say Marcus has won again today.

With respect, Sir, I may be misguided at times and I certainly am opinionated - but thick? I don't think it's appropriate for people to feel the need to list out O Levels, A levels, University degrees and Masters degrees on a forum where everyone's views are equally important (I have a feeling I might just be OK on this count anyway), but if you call people thick, I can understand why they feel forced to do so. It's personal.

If people find it tedious to hear the same thing again and again they say it. If people see someone on an ego trip, they say it. What I said to you must have touched a nerve - which means it probably isn't the first time someone has said it. When I bang on about something too often (and I do), I am told in no uncertain terms to give it a break....and you know what, the posters who tell me this aren't thick or stupid, they are probably right and it's their forum too, not just mine......so I have to respect that.

In your own company, A1, you can (and I'm sure do) say whatever you like, as often as you like, and you can bring things back to yourself, how you think, what your philosophy is,  and what you have achieved as regularly as you like. Your website certainly does come across as very "personal" for a company of its size. If employees don't answer back or disagree or tell you to play a different record, or feel the need to run every single decision by you before acting, that doesn't necessarily mean they agree with you, or that you are right......it means they are showing appropriate emotional intelligence towards a self-made entrepreneur.

I wish you well, even if that probably isn't going to be reciprocated.

Ok let's say I am not as thick skinned as I would like to be !

Lets change the thread & talk about the players well done Marcus in reaching an incredible 9th final in 6 weeks .

The other SF is on Serve :

T Wang 5 - 4 Ivo Klec *

I think Wang might edge it he's playing in GB soon and would like to meet his coach and ask how they  went from

Zero singles ranking to no333 in only 10 months - quite amazing
