I don't wish her badly but you've got laugh - KZ serves for the set, and on SP she proceeds to serve two DFs in a row, and then sprays a wild FH. Her home forum must be completely going mad !
This is an extraordinary match. Both players desperately short of confidence. Laura wastes 2 bps with awful errors then KZ gifts her the break with a couple of terrible backhands.
Great match report - made me smile For those who aren't watching, there are a few good shots too, but it's not wrong. . . .

my contension would be that this is actually what almost all lauras matches this year outside the glamour ties have been like this lack of quality and virtually unwatchable thats really not overstating it.
get a win is good against a consistent player year in year out
but as a neutral would you be comin back tomorrow to watch again? looking at the stands nope!
anyways ive bored for britain on this now so wont bring it up again :)
And Laura breaks again and WINS - some poor play from KZ (very up and down, some awful errors on important points) but Laura dealt with it well. No question that she deserved the last set.
Good win in the end for Laura and much better final set. The first serve got going and the errors were reduced for Laura(not Klara). Both players lacking in confidence.
Not a great performance... but it's a win and that's what counts.
Some good positives to take from the match as well, mainly that in a match where she was low on confidence and not playing well she stuck at it for the whole match. This time there was no let up after dropping a set.
Also, she did find some decent form in the end to win the decider easily. Laura's return of serve was awful up to 5-3 in the second set but from then on she only missed 4 or 5 for the remainder of the match which made all the difference. Zakopalova held her first 10 service games but only 1 of the last 5.
As a side note, I really liked the timing of calling Miles onto the court at 6-5 in the first set. Much better to get some advice just before a crucial part of the match than just after.
Only saw the last game, sounds as if I made a smart move !!
Klara was out of form to say the least, but you have to give credit to Laura who stepped it up in the final set when she tends to do the reverse.
80 points in the bag, should struggle against Kerber, but you never know.
