I was following Dan Evan's match - but great to see that Heather seems to be getting back to her best.

Hear, hear.

And me too - I decided to follow whichever match was kind enough to give me a decent livestream - so, Fed Cup, get your streaming sorted out !

C'mon girls. smile

So if we beat Romania and Latvia beat Hungary, would we be the winners of the group as Hungary cant win it and we would have beaten the other two teams??

Yes

Still a long way to go before that can happen today though.

ah well 1-6 4-6
haleps beat much more better rank rated and decorated players than joko worser than that in the last 2 years

joko not playing well yet this year and so it was so much more impresive theway she dug out that W over latvia
no disgrace at all today
probly a good learner to face halep too

Yeah Jo did fine today. Halep a lot better than against Babos seemingly, and the last couple of games threatened to make things interesting but Jo couldn't quite level it.

I have no idea what is going to happen now.

have to be heavy odds for romania
both begu & especialy niculescu are quality in doubles top 40 regulars and 6 wta titles between them
hev not played much doubles because of GF and not had much success since that illness forced the split with marina

hoping for some magic tho

I'd have put Tara/Joko and Joss in for the doubles. Heather must be tired from that long and ultra tense singles match. It's not like she's a doubles specialist either.

The games got closer towards the end of set (game points in game 5 and break points in game 6) but the Romanians completed the bagel.

However, the Brits won the 1st game of the 2nd set and now have another bp, which is saved with an ace.

Hev is quite a dubs specialist actually . Has a number of titles to her name. At least one and I think two, main tour titles, with Marina Eracovic. Also has played with Jos in the past, before Jos was injured.

And the dream is over. Good effort girls, but the doubles was a schooling. Joss understandably upset.

Heather is bandaged up, let her get to Midland and throw Tara into the mix over the weekend. i appreciate there are ranking points at stake but I would take a bit of a chance.

Hopefully we get rid of Romania and get a better group next year :)

This is such a young team, as Judy has said we aren't ready for the world group just yet, but our time will come :)
