Yep. And a big well done to Judy too - the captain should get a fair bit of credit (unless, of course, it was her fault that it was all going so pear-shaped in the first place!).
But, seriously, well done Jo and Heather - and to the whole extended team.
Phil: "JoKo plays a spectacular passing shot, shot of the year material, to break *6-5."
A Latvian follower tells me Marcinkevica blows hot and cold, i.e. can cause upsets but just as easily lose to lower-ranked players ... and that she has a history of losing leads.
The story so far:
M1: Heather Watson WR 162 beat Jelena Ostapenko (LTA) WR 705 (CH 636 in Mar) by 5&1 M2: Johanna Konta WR 118 v Diana Marcinkevica (LAT) WR 216 (CH 215 last week) by 6-3 4-6 7-5
GBR 2 LAT 0
Edit: correction, see below

That was some Fed Cup singles debut for JoKo! A Latvian follower tells me Marcinkevica blows hot and cold, i.e. can cause upsets but just as easily lose to lower-ranked players ... and that she has a history of losing leads.

Jo played a singles match against Argentina.
Of course she did - oops. I'd wondered why it wasn't on my radar when the FedCup people tweeted it - that would explain why! LOL
Edit: Ah - I misread, they said first FedCup singles victory, which is correct.

Hev & Joss lead the Latvians' two singles players *4-1 - presumably the unfortunate Marcinkevica is well and truly wrecked, though that's not to say she won't get a second wind.
The HUN v ROU tie is going down to the 3rd set of the doubles rubber!
