You even contradict yourself. On the one hand, you criticize the LTA, then in the next breath you're so far up Draper's backside we can't see the top half of your body anymore. Do you even know what your stance is?

I have obviously got off on the wrong foot with you John
My view on Lta is mixed -Some of their work in my opinion is excellent and in other cases poor - but they are still above average .
I know how hard it is to get financial sponsors been trying to do this for 12 months
So incredibly impressed by roger drapers procuring of £30 million sponsorship from Aegon .
Invested in a great website & tennis tennis with access to the public .
The only thing I am really critical of the Lta is the thin spread of funding for ATP ranked players that's because I often get approach and can't help everybody .
Its easy to find criticism of individuals or organisations there are normally positives & negatives .
I was hoping that the site might be useful to find volunteers to support what the A1 pharmaceuticals academy is doing .
Roger Draper/the LTA may well have secured a GBP 30 million sponsorship from Aegon.
However, he/they also lost GBP 7.1 million in funding from Sport England and have had a further GBP 10.3 million put on hold, with a view to potentially losing it, subject to hitting targets.

I don't think you mean the problem is a thin spread of funding (i.e. too little money across too many players), Gary, I think you mean the opposite. That there are in fact a tiny number of senior and late junior players receiving a lot of funding (too much for too few), with the rest receiving next to nothing. I think the solution is to open up elite funding to 2 or 3 times the number of players, particularly travel support, but "performance test" it.......for example, travel support for a capped number of overseas Futures tournaments for everyone, then dependent on success at Futures additional financial support for Challenger tournaments, more Futures, etc. In this way those "elite" players who aren't performing don't get a blank chequebook to country hop in Futures, whereas others who start to perform can access financial support to test themselves overseas more often. Overall the "pot" doesn't change.
I doesn't matter how much you beat your drum about the short comings of LTA funding, you will never change how they fund players!
The LTA is an old boys network, if you're one of the lucky few who's face fit, then happy days, you'll be funded to the hilt, with training, resources and international trips gallore. As for the other 95% of GB players who get no support or funding, well they just have to get on with it.
It's Frustating at times, can be soul destroying and often makes it quite difficult to keep believing.
It might seem unfair, but life rarely is, and although it helps, LTA funding does not make tennis players. The bottom line is if a player is talented enough, wants it enough and is prepared to make sacrifices and work hard, then they will reach there full potential, it's as simple as that.
So I suggest you channel all your energy and enthusiasm into focusing on your own agenda...basicly, you and your players need to just get your head down and get on with it!
