er, A1, this maybe, just possibly, could have gone on the 'Week 39 - Challenger (106,500+H) - Orleans, France (indoor hard)' thread ? The bros have got their big match coming up this afternoon, it'd sit nicely on that thread.
(Otherwise, agree with paulisi, maybe, but too early to tell)
We certainly need to see how they fair at ATP level before they can be considered a viable Davis Cup pairing. At the moment we have at least 5 top class players for the doubles in Andy Murray, Jamie Murray, Colin Fleming, Jonny Marray and Dominic Inglot. That will hopefully rise to 6 if Ross Hutchins makes a successful comeback.
Will be very interesting to watch how the Skupskis progress in the coming year or so, as with others such as the hopeful successful return of Ross Hutchins.
Clearly at top World Group level, unless and until we get another singles player much higher ranked and capable, the doubles is very likely to be vital to any chance of winning a tie.
It is also not ideal, the tougher the matches, that Andy plays doubles as well, but I do think Andy / Colin iz our top doubles combination just now. Colin and Ross were becoming an extremely good partnetship and were certainly pole sitters before Ross became ill. I like Jonny, but the Colin / Jonny partnership has to me been quite a bit short of matching that.
Anyway, I do trust Leon to monitor all contenders and make the pragmatic choices needed to maximise GB's chances of winning.
PS : Gary, it's Davis Cup, not Davies Cup. I try and avoid correcting such things for the sake of it. just you have called it "Davies" a few times and I wouldn't want you to express it wrongly to a more important audience than us.

Good idea - it's there now (or at least it will be a few moments after I send this)
