Week 39 - ATP 250 - Bangkok, Thailand (indoor hard)

Unfortunately they lost the second set 3-6.

Match tie break for the title.. fingers crossed.

Edit: YES! they take the tiebreak 10-6.

6-3 3-6 10-6

Congrats to them on their 3rd title! smile

John and Jamie won the first set 6-3.

2-3 on serve in the second.

Shame this final isn't streamed when the doubles final in Kuala Lumpur is.

Great to see Jamie finally back where he belongs, winning ATP titles.

Who would have thought that finding a regular partner would help wink

Well done, Jamie & John.

The win has even made the ticker on the Beeb's News Channel! disbelief

Why the bad smiley for the win making the Beeb? Am I missing something?

Yes, John, indeed you are:  you would know, if you had but taken the trouble to check, that that particular icon (hardly a smiley!) signifies "disbelief".  The yellow one = "no". wink

Ahh, I tried holding my mouse cursor over the smiley on the post editor but it didn't come up with anything, my computer is a bit old and on it's last legs now. Makes sense now my prickly boardmate wink

Ha Ha.

Anyway, really good to see Jamie having such success with a settled partner.

Very nice. Murray and Peers now 13th in the doubles race. Tough to see them getting many more points in Japan ... but equally Gonzalez/Lipsky (10th) have a potentially tricky first-round draw (Melzer/Knowle); Benneteau/Zimonjic and Mirnyi/Tecau (respectively in 9th and 11th place) play each other in the first round in China; and Linstedt/Nestor (12th) have split up here, and are playing respectively with Bhupathi and Paes.

NB: Nestor/Paes have a combined team age of 81. Is this an all-time high?
