3-2* in the third

Wouldn't like to put money on this one although serving first in the deciding set is always helpful.

Horrible memories of his last two finals are coming to mind at the moment. MPs in both and ended up losing.

Let's hope "3rd time lucky" is more powerful than "deja vu".

Yeah, I have a 'bad' feeling. But I can be a real; doom and gloom merchant sometimes .. .

Dodgy game at 3-3 with some wayward forehands but Dan saves a BP and holds

4-3*

Well he squeaked through that service game.

Is it just me (or the quality of the stream) or does anybody else think the net looks as though it was knitted by somebody's Granny and she dropped a few stitches on the way?

It does, but it's probably just the stream.

Point penalty for Evo, but at least he did at at 15-0 on his opponent's serve. Not clever deep in the final set though.

5-4*

Now would be a good time to break.

Dan missed his shot and shouted out something very loudly. I didn't quite get what he shouted but obviously the umpire didn't like it.

To be fair, Dan had no problem, instantly walked over to the other side and won the next two points.

Ah well. It must be a bit of a let down, playing somewhere like that after the USO/Davis Cup, but it has to be done, Dan. No short-cuts.

Dan loses 7-5 in the 5th.  He lost his serve at 5-5.  He saved 3 MPs, I think he had a break back point as well.  A very close match, but his level was not at its highest.  Disappointing, but not disastrous.....
