Yes, same as all the above. Great win, JoKo. She's really bounced back after having been so disappointed with herself at the US Open (her only recent blip). Good luck for the next one . . .

Excellent result. Lets hope for another good week and break into the top 110

Excuse my lazyiness, but what are the ranking points for a WTA 125 - given they are rarely played?

I'll answer my own question, as i've now looked it up

1 -22 - 44 -85-117-160

Pretty decent points for a lower tier tournament

So, the points on offer are :

1 point for a R1 loss.
An additional 21 points for winning R1.
A further 22 points for winning R2.
A further 41 points for winning QF.
A further 32 points for winning SF.
And a final additional 43 points for winning the final.

I would say pretty ridiculous ( OK, it is really ), but fairly standard fair for the logical geniuses that decide on WTA points distributions.

It's all change on the ranking points for 2014, much more balanced split.

Wow Jo has been impressive since Wimby hasn't she.
Regularly beating players ranked 75-100 tells me that she is ready for the top 100 and it will only be a matter of time.
Don't want another 3 hr match though, thankfully the draw is now better.
Jo is your true professional, when she's at tournaments she has her game face on, and is a fierce competitor on court, very Bally like.
She doesn't socialise much with the other players, again very Bally like, but she is still a lovely girl.

A semi final spot will put Joko very close to direct entry for Aussie Open.

Even a defeat at the next round would indicate only a further 80-90 points needed until the end of the year, which is now a distinct possibility.

Anyone know Joko's plans for the rest of the year.

Looks like she has a week off next week and then flies back to Europe for a 50K challenger.

Is she planning to carry on with challengers in Europe or have a go a WTA Tour qualifying?

she should have beaten muguruza from a break up in the third that day

so maybe same again this year???

i always think Moscow would be worth a punt cos is always under strength for a premier and its got betterer potential points

Jo a set and a break up 6-1 2-0. smile

Edit: JoKo wins 6-1 6-1. Lower ranked opponent dispatched very comfortably. Bravo. She really is on a roll. smile
