I was just thinking how nice it is that at the moment there seems to be a big group of British men who seem capable of mixing it at Challenger level.
Of course it's what the rankings show that counts, but I was just wondering how others would expect to see a year end top 10 if everybody was playing at a similar range of tournaments, and had injury free years?
Of course this is going to be very subjective but i'll kick off:
1) Murray - Just about sneaks gb number 1!
2) Evans - I think most would agree that after his US run, if he can maintain that level of play he is firmly British number 2.
3) J Ward - has bad luck with injuries but I think still sneaks Edmund, and is a threat in challengers.
4) K Edmund - What a great prospect.
5) A Ward - really having a very good run of form, firmly established himself as a challenger player in my eyes
6) Boggo - Hasn't played much of late but can still cause upsets at challenger level
7) Cox - difficult to know where to put Cox until after he has had a good go at challengers
8) Rice - seems to be consistently qualifying at challengers, hopefully he sticks at it and has a breakthrough like a-ward
9) Golding - again bad luck with injuries but I feel he is probably in limbo between futures and challengers when healthy
10) Corrie/Hewitt - similar to Rice both players seem to perform well at futures, will be fascinating to see how they get on in challengers (I'm going to ignore Hewitt's loss in qr1 this week!)

surly you fancy yourself as number 1?
I can't hold a candle to the legend of Robert Dee I'm afraid

Is this a list to predict the top 10 for the year end ?
Or a list of how the top ten would look (hypothetically) if they were all fit, all playing the same tournaments etc. ?
The latter. Imagine all the GB guys toured together and played exactly the same tournaments, same level, same quantity etc. Who would be the best? So basically how do they rank purely on level of tennis, whereas sometimes the rankings can be skewed by injury, resources for travelling, bad scheduling, brave scheduling etc. etc.

Yes, very much the latter, i.e. from the OP I basically read it as how do you think this year end rankings would look if all the players were essentially fully fit for the year and played tournaments as John described.
For myself, I put Boggo higher ( still got it if he was just fit ) and Oli higher ( would rise better than many to a higher standard of tournament ). Kyle fifth for this year although longer term he will / would usurp at least Boggo and James.
I must admit I hadn't considered Dom Inglot. Doing so ( on limited evidence ) he ousts Dan Cox from my top 10.
That doesn't measure consistency though, which surely has to still come into it.
Rather measure the average ranking of all players beaten and all players lost to and gauge some sort of level from that
