Ah, they are saying on the Beeb if the first match on Day 3 is won in straight sets, the 5th rubber has to be played ( peesumably to give folk more for their money ).
But if it goes to 4 or 5 sets, the captains can agree to call off the 5th rubber.
Well, that was more nerve-wracking than I thought it would be. Was that a Querrey look-a-like playing on Friday? It didn't look like the same person today. I thought he played very well almost throughout, though the scoreline doesn't look like it. Andy seemed right off in the second set, I'm not sure how he even got it to a tiebreak. I must go and check on his first serve % in that set, it seemed very low. I watched on the tv upstairs so didn't have access to any stats.
I agree it does feel a little strange that we are now guaranteed to be in the World Group next year. Just to make some of you feel really old, this is the first time GB have won a World Group match in my lifetime (or Andy's for that matter).
