That's what all the players say isn't it - that the problem is that when they're on song and pull ahead, it's over before it's begun.
Still think this was the right decision. It wasn't an easy tie no matter who played, and better to lose this way than potentially to have worn out Mr Murray. As to what it means - so hard to say. First time DC for Inglot, first-time pairing, in the US, on clay, against the Bryans isn't the easiest of set-ups. As noted a few hours ago, would have been surprised by a win. Don't think the loss says anything much about long-term DC potential.

Ah well - result as expected. I just hope Andy not playing (as most of us hoped would happen) was purely tactical and not because of any problem on his behalf.
The match was never really in doubt. The chances of Fleming and Inglot, especially as a scratch pairing, taking out the Bryans in America was probably 1 in 10 at best.
Murray not playing was simple common sense. We would have been underdogs in the doubles with him playing and if the match had gone long it would have harmed his chances for tomorrow. Much better to leave him completely fresh to take on Querrey in a match where he is the overwhelming favourite.

I'm still glad BBD got the chance, and for his first tie with an unknown partner he did alright.
It's such a shame that it's probably going to go back to the Flutchkins show now. Our highest ranked dubs player and Wimbledon champ won't get a look in. These guys have done our country proud, and don't get much of a chance to represent us in DC.
I also hope to see Dom part of the team again some point in the future, he always will have the potential to be back up for singles as well which helps - Although saying that, Flemings not too bad either.
Think Dom and Murray together would make an impressive team, Dom's power and Murray's everything else.
