3 guaranteed GB qualifiers, disappointed that qualifying is not full such that there are only 3 sets of matches across the four courts and the better players have byes. Hence I will probably not do the round trip tomorrow now as only Dasha v Rona and Georgia v Katie appeal.
Saw Rona play at Paddington - very physical, athletic, strong game. Liked her style. (Also saw Yasmina who was good to watch too - a real battler, another very athletic game).
Pleased for Jess S. - she's a bit short of victories . . .
NB Jess Ren won her first set (against the curiously named Tzarina Tuen-Matthews) 6-0, losing only TWO points.

Yes, seems a shame to have 4 byes in the first round. I guess there's no point entering if you know, honestly, you really don't have the level. But some of the youngsters would benefit from the match experience and surprised no to see more of them taking up the spare places.
Agree about the matches. Would probably like to see a little of Anna and Lana too. And Aimee Gibson has had a very good run in the Tour recently (along with Georgia Craven). Saw them both at Paddington, and they were in the final again at Corby.
Wins for Anna S, Katie B, Lauren. Aimee and Kyria lost in straight sets.
Nicole P(who prefers indoors) in a tight 3 setter with Jazzamay. Chloe Hughes 4-2 down.
In final qualifying,Mel should beat Jess Ren, Wouldn't be surprised if Rona turned over Jess Simpson. Katie v Anna will be interesting. Cannot see the other GB girls creating an upset though.
Quite a few upsets there, hopefully Mel qualifies and has a good run, she could really do with a quick boost up the rankings. No way she should be outside the top 600

Mel will beat Jess Ren but I am not optimistic about a return to top 250. I saw her at Wimbledon qualies she was outclassed by Peer
Mel does seem to retain an amazingly positive outlook re such as practice sessions and training blocks.
But on the match court she continually produces results in line with her ranking. It must be so frustrating when you have played to such a considerably higher level in the past.
steven's tweet is causing a twitter sensation (well, it's got various congrats including Sean Thornley who describes it, rightly, as world class). So as he's probably too bashful, I thought it really should go on here too:

No surprise that rearranging the letters in Jessica Ren gives "J Isner aces" RT @jessren94: Served a game of aces today #omg #bucketlist
