I wonder where Alex is going to play for the rest of the year. Besides Romania next week, where the cut is very high and he hasn't entered and one in Morocco in the last week of October there are no clay challengers outside South America for the rest of the year. So if Alex wants to stay on the clay he will either have to go to South America or drop down to futures.

Alex will be high enough ranked to bed seeded top 4 in most futures he enters so assuming semi finals of 10ks and 15ks this would just about bring the same yield as challengers he is playing. Will probably therefore end year rankings about the 330-350 mark.

I can see Alex playing 15K clay futures for a while, given the scheduling.

Otherwise Alex has played the odd hardcourt challenger, he may go down that route.

Alex has entered clay court futures in Spain for the next two weeks, the first is a 15K, the second is a 10K.

I think minimum 20 points should be the target in his next two weeks.

If you're serious about you career you wouldn't be faffing about in Futures wink

(Good luck!)

Harsh - Alex has a lot of points to defend, it would be beneficial to mix up his schedule to try and get some easy points. Besides not sure how many lesser challengers in Europe on clay are left this season.

Fortunately I don't think Shhh's comment was either serious or directed at Mr Ward ... Agree wholeheartedly with your point about mixing up the schedule. Mr Ward seems to have exceptionally good scheduling skills this year.

Yes, I think Shhh's comments were about huntley93's prospects in futures, not Alex's.

(Although, huntley93, we wish you all the best too - Challengers, here you come !)

Blimey........I quoted who I was replying to (huntley93), added a cheeky wink, put (Good Luck!) in brackets and was I still misunderstood?  If so, no harm done and good luck to both Alex Ward (top man) and huntley93 who I dont doubt is just as good a guy!
