College tennis

Here's a piece on the benefits of US college tennis I did for the Cambridge News which (hopefully) might be of interest.

The Watts sisters went through Sarah Borwell's Tennis Smart organisation - the players in the second piece found their own way through the system but also offered some interesting views.

Really interesting embee.

Sarah Borwell lists 110 British girls (one hundred and ten!!!) currently at college in the US under some sort of tennis scholarship (or, at least, playing on the varsity/uni tennis team - not quite sure if it's one and the same thing).

This includes 39 freshmen, i.e. starting this year, showing that numbers are going up (there's 4 years of college).

And this is only the women.
