That's good news. Mr Skupski (K) has a nasty 165 points due to come off on 23/30 September (thereafter he's pretty clear until Feb 2014) so really needs the (at least) 55 points that he'll get from this tournament. Mr Skupski (N) can count them as part of his best 16, dropping a zero ... so even if they don't manage to cover the full 165, his rise should compensate somewhat for his brother's fall. Challengers are serving them well.

Final:  (4) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 271 vs Benni Becker & Tobias Kamke (GER/GER) CR 1638

I reckon the Germans will not be the pushover their combined ranking may suggest, but even so, fingers crossed smiley photo: fingers-crossed.gif

I don't think there is any doubt that Becker and Kamke are far better players than their combined doubles rank suggests. Their "combined singles rank" would be 162.

Which the organisers clearly didn't use, or they'd have been seeded third! wink

The Germans were 5-3 up and served for the second set but the Skups broke back.

Now 5-5

And then break again ! Now serving for the title . . .

Oh, well - maybe a TB is the fairer outcome . .. (as long as the Skups win). Come on lads.

I understood that in doubles singles rankings are only used for entry lists, and never for seedings ??

I wasn't aware that the organisers had any choice in the matter..

Your understanding is correct. I only mentioned a "combined singles rank" as an indication of how good Becker and Kamke are.

Only saw them earlier in the week when the boys were absolutely sensational! Well done - this time next year wonder what their ranking will look like?
