QF:  (4) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 271 (Ken dropped 21 places in yesterday's rankings cry ) vs (WC) Dorian Descloix & Ugo Nastasi (FRA/LUX) UNR (DD has a doubles ranking, but UN hasn't)

While there are no foregone conclusions in any match, and I am assuming nothing, two Luxembourger WCs in a row is as kind a draw at a 64,000 tournament as one is likely to find.

Am now really confused. Went online to see whether/when the Skupskis were playing their QF today. They are, not before 1:30 pm BST. But there are also a whole host of 1st round matches (including one which the unfortunate Mr Nastasi lost in a double bagel). On a Friday? I don't really follow that closely and assume it's rain delays ... but that's going to be an interesting tournament to try to finish before the next week's tournaments begin.

Have you crossed the international dateline a couple of times in the last 24 hours or am I not the only one who sometimes loses track of what day of the week it is? smile

They're due on after the PHM/Sam Barry match & PHM currently leads by a set & 5-3*, so it shouldn't be that much longer.

P.S.  It's Wednesday today... wink

 Somewhat of an understatement.....

Indeed. Let's just say that there's been a lot of work this past fortnight. So I'm not surprised it feels like a Friday. But even for me, to be able to look at a Wednesday schedule, see that it says Wednesday and still think that it's Friday is ... remarkable.

Skupski's won set 1 by 6-2. Just flicked on to have a look. To say they look like mustard would be a fair comment. I feel sorry for their opponents....it's not fair!

I think I see what Spectator was driving at earlier:  the top seeds, Hanley & Kas don't play their first round match until later this afternoon, likewise the second seeds, Monroe & Stadler.  Meanwhile the Skupskis are already in the semi-final, as will be Ghedin & Grass or Neuchrist & Zopp by the end of today's play.  Unless the players involved in the rounds which are behind, as it were, are asked to play their quarter-finals and their semis tomorrow, the latter will indeed not happen until Friday.

You are very charitable to make sense out of my nonsense, Stircrazy! Thank you. (Though yes, I think you're right that it was the combination of some people playing for SF and some playing first round that contributed to my confusion ... still no excuse!)

And of course, goes without saying, delighted with the win. Must be the easiest 33 points the pair is ever likely to get.

Not sure if this counts as the draw opening up for Ken & Neal or not, but Hanley & Kas, specialist doubles players (CR 97) though not with one another, were earlier beaten by the scratch pairing of Niels Desein & Tim Pütz (CR 517) by 6-7(6) 6-4 [8-10], so I would like to think so. ( ).  Desein & Pütz will now do battle with Alexander Bury & Farrukh Dustov (CR 645) for the honour of taking on Ken & Neal  in the semi-final &, if the OoP is to be believed, that is the only QF which will be played tomorrow. disbelief

Final match on Court 2 tomorrow - & the only semi to be played tomorrow!

The Skupski bros won the first set of their semi 7-6 but are 3*-1 down in the second

Must have pulled it back, as they're now into a 2nd set tie-break
