Gabb well on the way to the final - well, has won the first set of his Quarter-final 6-1 and now only has the next set to go and a SF with either an UNR or a WR 1700-ish

Gabb wins 6-1 6-1

A wonderfully convincing scoreline . . .

QF: (4) Richard Gabb WR 535 beat (8/Q) Denys Mylokostov (UKR) WR 851 (CH 739 in Jun) by 1 & 1

36 games won, just 2 lost so far ... and a potentially dream SF draw given that the 2nd seed pulled out and the 7th seed lost in R1!

He will play the winner of a game between an unranked player and a player ranked 1768 in the world!

The unranked player is extremely lucky, getting through to QF w/o having to play a single ranked player!

SF: (1) Dekel Bar (ISR) & Richard Gabb CR 960 vs (WC) Stanislav Korshunov & Andrei Novikov (RUS/BLR) UNR

And, just to keep his hand in, Richard and Bar are cruising in their doubles SF: 6-1 to them in the first set

My God, if Richard produces any more bakery products this week we could have a modern day feeding of the 5000.

Not the hardest earned 10 points ever, but efficiently done.

Richard will now "soar" to GB no 16 or 17 ( Oli could currently overtake him ) and if he wins the final he will be up to about WR 450.

FINAL: (4) Richard Gabb WR 535 v (6) Federico Gaio (ITA) WR 592 (CH 353 in 2012)

Richard has played Gaio once before, at Roehampton juniors back in 2009, where he won a very tight match 7-6(10) 4-6 6-4!
