James gets one of the breaks back ...

James behind; plays more aggressively; wins the game. Bit of a pattern.

He just saved at least one match point at *3-5, now has a point to get the other break back ... and does.

Still has to serve to stay in it again.

Outstanding! James behind - more aggressive, more focussed, 2 breaks recovered.

My concerns start here: key moments of the match with now something to lose...........

Come on james!

Come on Wardy. 30-0 up back to 30-30.

Don't lose it now.

Well, if Julien Hoferlin was watching that, I don;t expect he's texting back to HQ as we speak that James is the real, on form, number two . . .

But well done to him all the same. Maybe the next match will be a little easier (we'd appreciate it James. . . )

Yes. Wardy takes it in the tie break to win 3-6 6-3 7-6(5)

Is there a bit of DC spirit in the 3rd set fightback ?

Well I suppose a win is a win but not an overly encouraging start to the week for James.

Lucky on the last point twice, but who cares!!! What a recovery!

Great effort. But why oh why does he go into these daydream patches, mostly where he's in the driving seat or where its a critical match moment, where his play is completely becalmed - almost like a training session for defensive skills and ball manipulation!
