RE: Week 36 - Great Britain F18 ($10,000) - Sheffield (Hard)

Looking at the draw, a Brit is favourite to win every match except Peniston v (7) Hochwalt, which has just started. So if Ryan can pull off the upsets, there'd be a decent chance of all the singles points here going to Brits. Tough ask though - over 1100 places separate them in the rankings.

Evan Hoyt wins 3 & 2 - that's a career best ranking scalp for the Welsh teenager.

Samm Butler gets his first ranking point.

Meanwhile, Tom Farquharson lost the 1st set to Mark Whitehouse but has since won 7 games in a row.

Anyone know what has happened to George Morgan?

He's one of the Team Aegon squad but hasn't played any ITF (or better) tournaments since June. He had been playing regularly on the ITF circuit but unfortunately lost all of his $10k MD matches between late January and June this year (with the exception of a first set retirement win against Tom Burn back in February).

I presume he must have an injury of some kind - hope he's on the mend anyway.

I'm sure I saw a tweet from him a few weeks ago where he said something along the lines of 'great to get back-to-back victories, had forgotten how good that felt' or words to that effect - he was playing in one of the tour evens, I think.

And then in his next match he was down as having lost after a few games and having retired.

From recollection, a neck injury . . .

Liam has taken the first set 6-3

Good chance for Myles to make a QF

Rob Carter has the match up agianst the last remaining foreigner, but that may be an ask to knock him out

Would love to see JWH, Marzi, Broady, Orton, Carter, Coupland, Bloomers and Corrie get through. Not sure they will though.

I wasn't too fussed about Dan and Marcus prevailing last week, but would rather like JWH and Liam to get their revenge this week.

I think it would also be good to see Marzi, Neil and Tom get further wins in R2 to boost their confidence.

Amended - no idea what makes me get it wrong on here after typing the right thing on Twitter but it's not the first time it has happened
