MD complete, poor JWH will face Dan Cox again in second round if they both win R1 matches.

Poor old (young) JWH. He must be sick of the sight of Dan C !! I honestly think that had he served out last week, he could have gone on to win the tournament,
Much stronger than last week with Liam and JWH not seeded. Pauffley could also get Coupland who has turned him over before and Tom v Bloomers in round 2 potentially.
I find it increasingly difficult to put rral value to many of the ranking movements and new CHs with the undoubted ooost the GB futures pointz give away has been comparative to other years.
Very clear that players like Ashley and Tom have made great strides forward with some very good results outwith GB and overall we have probsbly got greater depth, just the overall improvement is not as marked as figures might first suggest.
It;s an interesting point. Have the UK players got heaps of 'free' points this summer by, effectively, just playing each other and sharing the points round ? And are therefore over-ranked ?
Or have the other countries always been doing the same and now the UK players are simply in the same position as everyone else i.e. 'bumped' up by domestic tournaments ?
I'm not sure, and it's been mentioned before, but you certainly see a ton of 10k futures in Argentina, Russia or wherever with practically 100% home players.
So maybe the playing field is now even . . .
Obviously the proof of the pudding comes when you put your ranking into practice and play outside your country. So good luck to the lads in Turkey and elsewhere this week (and to those in Sheffield too . . .)
Hmm. Red flag to a bull, that question. Couldn't find any carpets, though others with more languages may be able to do so. Did find lots of Harts, though. And there's always Jo Dur-ie.
