RE: Week 35 - Great Britain F17 ($10,000) - Wrexham (Hard)

So a set and a break down, on the point of defeat with his opponent serving for the match (i.e. about as late in the day as it gets), Dan then wins 7 games in a row and still counting.........

....tennis is such a strange game sometimes; thank God for the scoring system which truly does mean "it ain't over till it's over".

As Korriban says, "it ain't over til it's over", but at *5-1 to Dan C, a rather large lady is warming up her vocal chords.

I don't think we're going to get our way today !cry But the man's got to learn how to close it out from 5-3 up - he'll be back . . .

And with 6 extra points, Liam must be up to around 680 or so - all good.

And, who knows Bob, maybe Bloomers will pick up the slack and get you your points !

JWH was ultimately unable to press home his early advantage.  He was by no means "battered", though - not until the final set, that is! hmm

QF:  (1) Dan Cox WR 336 defeated (7) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 749 by 3-6 7-5 6-1

Not to be for JWH today but a good effort. I am sure that with experience he will be better able to close matches out. At 5-3 in the 2nd it was all looking sooo good.

However, kudos to Dan C for fighting back from the brink. And having won 10 of the last 11 games, you would have to say he was a worthy winner in the end.

Forgive me, RJA, but if you are in Wrexham........is Mr Hutt serving underarm today? First $10k QF perhaps but those first set serve stats look terrible!! wink

Edit: And it continues......4 service games and only 4 points won on serve in total.......perhaps Sam's been replaced by Jabba the Hutt overnight......his serve is a bit dodgy, I've heard.

Somethings up for sure....RJA may enlighten us later.

I am not there today but Sam's serve looked pretty dodgy on Tuesday.
