RE: Week 35 - Great Britain F17 ($10,000) - Wrexham (Hard)

Myles has won the first set re Bruce 6-2

Nick Jones has got the first against the Blugarian, 6-4

The other two matches are very close, Liam with a tiny edge but making hard work of it against Samm Butler and Tom fighting back against Adam . . .

If anybody, like me, has trouble finding the scores for this tournament this is a direct link -

Sorry, that didn't work.  Just takes us to the usual page.  The direct one for scores just for this tournament I got off the LTA page.

When you use the ITF link you have to remove everything in the link after = ITF.... basically all this...

&layoutid=72&versionid=1&language=en&country=GBR

It seems to work ok if you add it as a favourite though.

Tom has conceded 14 break points. 14 ! Luckily for him, Adam's only managed to convert 3 but all the same . . . Adam 4-2*

Bruce has made it one set all v Myles.

Even when Tom was on his excellent run of form earlier in the year, he often had to battle back from tough situations and recover many breaks. If I recall, some of the forum members who have seen him play live suggested that Tom's serve, whilst not a complete liability, could not be regarded as an asset or strength. Enough to hold him back from making the next big rankings breakthrough, perhaps, so certainly worth focussing on over the coming months......I'm sure he's already on the case.

And Liam finds a way past Sam Butler winning 7-5 7-6.

Obviously playing the big points well - saving 13/15 BPs against his serve.

Hoping to see Liam go deep this week.

In the JC X 2 match, JC the Junior (only 15) takes the first set off JC the senior 6-3

Nick Jones serves for the match at 5-4 but gets pegged back by the Bulgarian 5-5

And Liam saves several SP at 6-5 before, finally and in the longest two-set match EVER (practically, and allowing for exaggeration), winning the second set TB 7-4

A very strange result:

Nicholas JONES (GBR) won 6-4 5-7 6-5 Default Chris ANGUELOV (BUL)

Was anyone there ? Anyone know why he was defaulted ?

Jones broke 5-5 and the Bulgarian was defaulted for his extreme level of abuse towards the officials. Will add more later
