Scrappy first set, possibly due to lack of match practice (but Laura can play like that anyway). Did really well to get out of the service game at 5-5 which proved to be the turning point as she never looked back from there.
By the end Laura was in something approaching her free-flowing best and LDL looked beaten before it finished. The wrist looked fine, she wasn't at all holding back on the backhand, and we saw some evidence of the variety to her game she has been working on with Miles (more coming to the net, with mixed success and a couple of drop shots).
Could be Garcia in R2 which couldn't be more of a contrast to today's opponent.
