If Kyle had won today he would have gone clear GB no 4 "in running" for the post US Open rankings. As it is he is level with Brydan who also lost his QF today.
Post US Open GB 4th to 8th in running, all have at least one chance to add points :
Kyle 124 Brydan 124 Dan C 122 Ed 120 Alex W 118
If I am not mistaken, I think Mr Klein has a lot of points to come off the following week, so it is only a matter of time before one of the chasing pack becomes GB Nš4

That was bad, Bob. But I'm sure that, Como siempre, he and his team will find a way. If he does, I hope (for the Italian linguists among us) that the "draw"[er] will be favourable. (Sorry - I'm sure somebody can do better than that.)

I wonder if Kyle will be making the dash to "Como" and for the linguists here, I wonder "how" he is going to get there on time.
I certainly hope so. Weekend in Como isn't the most unappealing prospect I've heard of. Life could be worse. Whether the logistics work, I'm not sure.
Can't see it being a problem as Poznan to Como is not that far. I would have thought worse case scenario, a roughly 100 mile drive a Berlin, a flight to Northern Italy, possibly Milan and then another shortish drive to Como. Should be able to get by the end of today and have a good night's sleep to prepare for his match tomorrow. It isn't like he needs to make it there for the 9PM sign in deadline.
That isn't to say I assume that he will play there, merely that the logistics are very doable.

lost the first set 6-4, couldnt take his chances, and couldnt save a bp
Just like Ash yesterday. Can't believe he lost that match, but he did!
On a positive note, Kyle is getting into Balleret's service games today, although aces seem to be getting him out of any trouble. Surprised Kyle hasn't done better, perhaps he will step up from here. Balleret is a classic journeyman pro - very solid, very experienced, bouncing around in the rankings between 200 and 600 for about a decade - but by definition, nothing special - so with a second chance in 2 weeks, lots of rest and some tactical input, I'd have expected a Kyle win. Still backing the Brit.
