I don't know if any of you have between following the tournament's Twitter account this week http://www.twitter.com/winnipegfutures but for a Futures event, their coverage has been outstanding and it is clear from all the pics that they are doing their best to attract as many people from the local community along to the event as possible, with catering, events, etc ... and that they are succeesing. They've even got ballkids - yes, for a Futures event!
Shows what's possible with a bit of imagination ... and when you aren't so spoilt with Wimbledon, WTF, etc, that you can be bothered to try and make something of the event. (Manitoba is a long way from Toronto and Montréal)

Guess it was Cam's birthday yesterday (got the retirement victory), not today ! lost the first set 6-1 . . .
Given that his opponent beat James Ward in Aptos, the fact Cameron managed to avoid double bakery suggests to me he definitely wasn't hungover - at this stage, that's the kind of scoreline you'd expect if they were both playing well. He has won 5 matches here and while has had a bit of luck compared to, say, Luke (i.e. getting Malik instead of Chvojka in R2 and then having Chvojka retire against him in the QFs), he made good use of any good fortune and his win against Zverev in R1 was impressive - he deserved to pick up a few points here on the back of that alone. Definite progress made, I would say

It was certainly not I that was suggesting that Cam was hungover - that was naughty ol' Bob in Spain (or maybe his alter ego, I've heard that he's even naughtier).
I just meant that yesterday was the day of birthday presents (a victory by retirement) and there were no 'presents' today, just back to regular tennis.
