Until a few years ago it was a combined event at New Haven.

Dom takes the first set 6-3 over de Bakker. Nice smile

I didn't expect that He obviously wants to keep hold of his singles ranking pretty badly!

Having a good laugh at the confusion on page 1 of this thread too I guessed where the initial misunderstanding had come from, having thought either New Haven or Winston-Salem was combined until I checked a couple of days ago (probably because NH used to be), but can see why the Andy reference (and the idea of even Andy F playing here) would been seriously confusing to those reading without realising that

Now to the serious business:

R1:  Santiago González & Scott Lipsky (MEX/USA) CR 59 vs (4) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 55
R1:  Martin Klizan & Michal Mertinak (SVK/SVK) CR 130 vs Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76

The top seeds are Nestor & Paes.  No sign of Jamie M - John Peers is playing with Paul Hanley here.  Dom & TCH would appear to have the easier match.

That 3 set singles match lasted just over an hour I think. Serve dominated.

Jamie and John didn't quite make the cut. They will be playing together at the US Open.

Things may be looking up a little for Dom & TCH:  the second seeds, Bops & ERV, were replaced by Jaroslav Levinsky & Yen Hsun Lu, who lost to arguably a more redoubtable pair...

QF:  Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76 vs Frantisek Cermak & Filip Polasek (CZE/SVK) CR 74

They must still fancy their chances, though...

As I rather feared:

R1:  Santiago González & Scott Lipsky (MEX/USA) CR 59 defeated (4) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 55 by 4 & 5 cry

Some more good news from across the Pond - & revenge of sorts!

QF:  Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76 defeated Frantisek Cermak & Filip Polasek (CZE/SVK) CR 74 by 6-1 7-6(5) smile

****

SF:  André Begemann & Martin Emmrich (GER/GER) CR 76 vs Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76

A decent(ish) chance of a place in the final, I'd have thought...

You were right - but they had to come from behind and then beat the Germans in a shoot-out to do it!

SF: Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76 beat André Begemann & Martin Emmrich (GER/GER) CR 76 by 4-6 6-3 10:5

FI: Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot CR 76 v (1) Daniel Nestor (CAN) & Leander Paes (IND) CR 26

This will be their 5th ATP final together (W 1 L 3)
