L16: (1) Brydan Klein WR 327 defeated Alon Elia (ISR) WR 1456 by 5 & 1
****
QF: (1) Brydan Klein WR 327 vs (the ridiculously named) (7) Tucker Vorster (RSA) WR 711 (= CH)
Vorster seems to have been cutting quite a swath through the early rounds of the Izmir draws (up 58 places in this week's rankings), so it wouldn't surprise me if Klein came unstuck tomorrow.
I'm not keen on surnames used as first names but I don't find that one particularly odd - maybe his parents were (if a vague memory from childhood is correct) Grange Hill fans! LOL

QF : Tucker VORSTER (RSA) [7] WR 711 won 6-7(3) 6-4 7-6(4) v Brydan KLEIN (GBR) [1] WR 327
But not surprised, I'll bet.....
For a recent top 175 player to have decided to drop all the way down to $10ks in Turkey means either he's desperately low on confidence or using this as a holiday. Then to lose every week as soon as he plays an opponent with any half decent ranking: very unimpressive.
Brydan has a big game if at his best, but he's clearly down on confidence and he doesn't look to me to have too many variations in his game, so if Plan A isn't working he doesn't really have an effective plan B to go to.
Worth noting that 16 year old Borna Coric who won the Bournemouth futures in the spring has just won back to back futures in Turkey, only dropping 2 sets in the process.
