GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I think it would be very difficult to pick any of the qualifiers from the draw for this tournament - not much in it in terms of quality across the field (a few local wildcards aside).
Heather rebounded from a very poor tournament to have a much better one last week so hopefully she can continue on that upward curve. Bally hasn't played a tournament in quite a long time so she will probably find it tough going against Garcia.
A shame Laura wasn't able to play here as it leaves her badly short of match practice for the US Open even the wrist is 100% sorted. Means she has only played 2 matches in 2 months so far from ideal. With Hev retiring today as well there's a lot of uncertainty going into next week (also was this her first ever retirement? I recall her saying in an interview once that she would never retire from a match which was always unrealistic)
A left hip injury caused Heather to retire. She was one of 6 retirements in New Haven qualies, suggesting plenty of precautionary retirements ahead of the US Open.

Didn't realise this match had even started but was checking through the scores and seen Hev had to retire. Any ideas what happened?
It might be a while till we hear anything as there won't be any journalists around in New Haven yet, just have to hope it's a problem she can get over in a week. Means our top 3 have all retired/withdrawn from their last match now.
