Was always going to be a difficult match-up, and he made it a very competitive match. What's the LL situation? Is it the same as for the women?

Pretty sure that it is a random draw of the 16 FQR losers. There is already one LL spot as Fish has withdrawn.

It's a random draw of the four highest-ranked FQR losers (there can be more in the random draw if there are already a few LL places in the draw) then by ranking order thereafter.

I suppose that is fair cry

Evo could start on time, I've now got bad vibes about this one to, can't help it !

Phil, breath deep. Have a drink. Think of sunshine and sleeping kittens. Zen . . .

Frankly, after Brydan (feeble result), Kyle (closer but a shame), Oli (good effort but disappointing nonetheless), Bally (she'd practically won the damn thing) and now James (within his grasp), all I can say is:

Dan, your country needs you !

I have a GOOD feeling about Evo, he'll do it & I even think he could win a round or 2 in the MD

Well there are some reasonable looking qualifying spots, including a couple of Q v Q ones. Ferrer, Raonic, Nishiskori, Janowicz and Lopez and the only seeded players who have a qualifier in the first round.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves.

I just think he's missed out on 2 finals , and this is effectively another final, loads of money as well if he qualifies, big pressure. I remember at Nottingham that if he'd won his QF in June he would have been top 250 and would have had the Wimby WC, and we know the result of that match.

Anyway hopefully now I've jinxed him in a postive way !

confident dan will do the business, davis cup is getting very interesting atm, especially if dan wins tonight. Clearly playing the better than james id say, but then how much to you take into account the clay

Dan won't be starting on time. Hernych and Soeda have just taken 73 minutes to play their first set.

The previous match has finally been completed so it won't be long.
