Leon Smith strikes me as that rare thing in the upper echelons of british tennis at the moment - someone that commands and gives out respect in equal measure. His conduct and decision making so far as DC captain has been bang on. Nobody likes being left out of teams but you don't get the impression that he makes enemies of players he leaves out like certain other recent useless captains - probably explains to them in a rational manner why he's not picked them, kept them informed and left the door open for the future rather than insulting them in the press. We need more like him. Gets on with business and leaves the talking and posturing to the press and the doubters.
