well, when no one was looking, the talented young Moroccan Khaddari withdrew, and was replaced by an Italian LL - Ercole DI IAANI WR 1386

James 5-3 up in the final set . . . but not posting this yet . . .

and now 5-4 . .. serving for the match . . . still not posting . . . two points away . . . MP . . . and wins !!!!!

James IRELAND defeats Ercole DI IANNI (ITA) 3-6 6-2 6-4

The jump is because Osama was the runner-up here two weeks ago - he'll go up again next Monday when semi-final points from last week get added. Osama was also a top 25 junior earlier this year. All in all, Osama must be the strongest unseeded player here, but then again James got pretty jammy with the way his R1 draw worked out so we can hardly complain
