I think today's win will put him level on points with both Dan C and Ed C with 122 points on the 26th Aug.

Very interesting battle for the GB Nş 5 spot, although a win for Kyle in the QF would seal his place as GB Nş 5.

I was working this out at the same time and I make it that he has 117 points now (as at 26 Aug, I mean), so he needs to win his QF to go level with Dan and Ed on points (I think the order would then be Dan as GB no. 5, Kyle 6, Ed 7) and needs to reach the Final to be GB no. 5. He could of course get to GB no. 4 but would need to win the title again with Brydan not winning the title in Turkey and none of the other three players with 120+ points doing well in a Challenger next week.

And a schoolboy error from me as well.  I was thinking the 8 points were for a QF but of course he needs to reach the SF for those.  Maybe one day I will get one of my calculations right. cry

Yes, Steven, I've got the same for GB rankings 4 to 8 as at 26/08.

Brydan 128 ( 129 - 18th best of 1 ) + this week's 10K points

Dan C 122

Ed 122

Alex 120

Kyle 114 + this week's 15K points ( so will go to 122 if he wins his QF )

By the way, I believe there are no Challengers next week so unless any of them fancy trying getting into ATP qualifying those ranking points should stand.

Once again I bow to the statistical masters.

Thanks Indiana.

I just tend to already have potential points a couple of weeks ahead.

Oops, yes of course there wouldn't be with USO qualifying on. That makes things simpler then!

Another regulation win, sort of now expecting this from Kyle. Impressive consistency from the young lad from East Yorkshire.

IIRC last year there was actually a challenger during this week.

Well, he has won 15 of his last 16 singles matches in Futures  - not without the odd scare, but in many ways digging himself out of the odd hole (even ones he probably shouldn't have dug himself into wink) makes it even more encouraging.

And that's why I reckon Kyle is different from most of the others. Didn't matter that the Pole brole Kyle to love, then won 15 points in a row on his serve, Kyle won the 2 that counted.......looks like Mr Edmund was very much second best for the entire second half of that set, but he still stepped up when it mattered.

May not win today, but he's not just a good player, he seems to fight very hard and play well when under pressure.....and that bodes very well.

Good luck for the rest of the match!

VERY long break between sets.....suspect a MTO, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Kyle given how he had to literally hang on from 5-2 40-15* up in that set.

The lad seems to be going from strength to strength! biggrin  Well done, Kyle.

SF:  (6) Benjamin Balleret (MON) WR 508 (CH of 204 in June 2006...) vs (4) Kyle Edmund WR 408

doesn't look like we're gona get a live score for this match, neither of the first matches on either courts have been covered, and the next match has dissapeared off live score aswell. kyle's match is the only one remaining on there, but seems unlikely the way things are going
