Yep, that first smash in particular was an absolute sitter and Ed was way too cautious.

A couple of aces help Naso hold to 15. Its looking quite a mountain right now for Ed. 6-2, 2-6, *1-4

pretty dire game from both players (apart from Ed's last return of serve). But Ed gets the game, the Italian thumps his racket on the floor - back on serve - not over quite . . .

Make that 15-40 and Ed is facing two BPs...

Saves one but not the second. Disappointing after breaking back. Naso will serve for it. 6-2, 2-6, 3-5*

Not to be. A love hold from Naso means GSM 6-2, 2-6, 3-6

A close fight but in the end Naso just had more weight of shot I felt and served a little better. Ed struggled particularly on second serve. Not sure where he is off to next but rather hope he moves back to Hard courts. Not sure clay court challengers are going to get him a lot of points.

I'll always applaud players from stepping up from futures to challengers but feel Ed should only being do that on hard. If there's only clay available, I'd rather see him pick yp a few wins in 15k's but................I guess its easy to sit on the side lines and say that!
