My understanding is that the "death point" counts as a BP in stats ( I am sure I observed it being so counted in one match ). So logically, 0-40 would count as 4 BPs.
Surely it would have to count as a break point, otherwise a pairing could conceivably win 6-0 6-0 without generating any break points which would be ridiculous.
Real shame that - did think Peya and Soares were the better team but some great shots particularly frum Muzz - he seemed up for it. 600 points for CF though will hopefully get him into the latter Masters of the year.
Yeah, better team won. Fleming and Murray were very poor on return and I can only echo Peter Fleming's comments that their tactics in this regard were "numbskull". I cannot for the life of me understand why they were so happy to concede the net position to their opponents.
Marray improved 45 points last week as well as a zero pointer fell off his scores. The same happens for him this week as well along with Colin who will pick up an extra 90pts as his next highest score counts I think.
Well done the two of them. Not surprising their tactics weren't great - the talent is huge on both sides, but they're just a scratch team, so can't really have had the time to work out how to play together. And they were up against one of the best partnerships on the circuit. Now if Mr Murray were willing to play doubles more regularly ....
Presumably Mr Murray's playing with Mr Fleming wasn't doing just Mr Fleming a favour, but was also potentially helping out Mr Hutchins as well.
Hope Murray doesn't start messing around with this doubles nonsense too much, already caused him an MTO in this tournament. I guess it worked out well enough here with him losing early in the singles though, bit of court time in a relatively easy going and non competitive environment
