RE: Week 32 - ATP Masters 1000 Series: Montréal (hard) - doubles

Good stuff.

That Murray character is a pretty good doublez player !

Yes, it would have been great for Colin to have got there with Jonny. But I rather doubt they would have. Colin & Jonny have been an OK partnership, but not really pulled up any trees.

Particularly when they said last night there were no pictures from the host broadcaster!  I wonder if they've wangled it or stung their own feed?  Great they're televising it, particularly now the football madness is about to begin

No all-GB pairs have won a Masters doubles title or a WTF (or equivalent) before, so Colin & Andy must now be one match away from the biggest title for an *all-GB* doubles pair since George Hughes & Raymond Tuckey won Wimbledon in 1936 and the biggest outside the UK since Hughes & Fred Perry won the Australian Open in 1934.

They have probably just paid the host broadcaster to do it. The cameras are obviously all in place so it wouldn't have been difficult.

Can someone help with this question please?
If the scoreline is *0-40 in doubles (without the Ad rule),is that 3 break points or 4 break points (i.e. counting the death deuce point???
Thanks.

I don't know how it goes in term of the official stats but in reality it is 4 break points

Game over ...

Peya/Soares notch up their first Masters title winning 6'4, 7'6(4) over Fleming/Murray.

I believe it counts as 3 break points for the stats as the deuce point is a "deciding point" rather than a break point...but I could be talking complete rubbish, it has been known to happen!!

A shame (for Colin) that they couldn't get the win but from the bits I watched the right team won.

Real shame that - did think Peya and Soares were the better team but some great shots particularly frum Muzz - he seemed up for it. 600 points for CF though will hopefully get him into the latter Masters of the year.
