Week 32 - ATP Masters 1000 Series: Montréal (hard) - doubles

R1:  Dominic Inglot & Jerzy Janowicz (POL) CR 94 vs André Begemann & Rohan Bopanna (GER/IND) CR 47
R1:  Julien Benneteau & Nenad Zimonjic (FRA/SRB) CR 41 vs Colin Fleming & Andy Murray CR 374 bleh

Dom should at least have some idea of what to expect from Bops & Begemann, since he & TCH disposed of them in straight sets in Washington last week.

TCH's absence is something of a mystery.  As far as I'm aware, he's still Dom's regular partner & their combined ranking would've been high enough to get them into the MD in Montréal, so perhaps he's injured or even fancied the week off!  I must confess to feeling more than a dismayed when I saw that Dom had teamed up with JJ for this event.  The Pole certainly didn't win himself many friends by his behaviour in his semi-final encounter with Andy at Wimbledon. furious

First set down the pan 1-6 disappointing thing is 5 games went to a deciding point and they only won 1 of them

Agreed, not a likeable guy at all, and although I support Dom that will be tempered for me because of his partner. I think TCH played with him before.

Think we'll be very lucky to find a stream at all ... they usually cover the cameras up as soon as doubles start.  I'm guessing forum folk will post a link to a stream if anyone can find one!

no

Thanks for the info, on the subject of doubles pairings I was curious as to why Colin had teamed up with Andy rather than Jonny, wouldn't this have been a good opportunity to get some points on board for the race and practice for US Open? Injury to Jonny perhaps?

No it wouldn't, Dom and Jerzy were the last names on the entry list and that was using Jerzy's singles ranking which is higher than Treat's doubles one.

NB. Noticed TCH has dropped the 'Conrad' from his name on the ATP site, so guess he's just TH now

Again, Jonny and Colin wouldn't have got in so Colin was forced to take one of the On-Site spots with Andy

Seagull posted all the info in the entries thread a couple of weeks ago.

Livescores for Court 9 have stopped working so no way of knowing if Istomin has beaten Peliwo or not and whether Fleming/Murray are on court yet.
