Gutting, when she was at least one break up in every set and, with JoKo out, seemed to have a golden opportunity to cover most of the points due off on Monday week
She's not the first very good player Anderson has outlasted this week though.

Jade replied to Tara RTing that by saying she'd had a similar one too (not quite as extreme, but not far off) - fortunately, they seem able to laugh them off but it's almost beyond belief that people can be so nasty - to anyone, let alone to young women who, for all they know, might be feeling vulnerable.
It's no doubt not too difficult to laugh off stuff like this when you've got friends around but imagine one of them being on their own at a tournament somewhere, perhaps having a dreadful week with things outside tennis going wrong as well and then losing a match and getting something like this when they were already feeling really low.
In a way, these so obviously extreme messages from such obviously sad individuals are probably easier to laugh off than more insidious stuff (especially when it's clear that so many players are getting them and they aren't just being singled out) - I just don't get how anyone could want to be that nasty to a fellow human being, let alone think it might be ok to actually write these things.

My personal opinion is that action has to be taken to deal with these despicable human beings.
I agree.
Anonymity of twitter or forum names should be removed when there is clear verbal abuse, details revealed and action taken. I'm not quite sure what would be the best form of action (leave that to the lawyers to figure out) but it's completely unacceptable.
Emily's doubles final probably will not be played until tomorrow, so once again she will have a very tight timetable if she is going to play in her next specified tournament!!
