Josh: "Lol wait until I retire to do the tactic I should of been doing my whole career. #serve&volley #mixitup" d'oh! no

That is actually a very sad tweet. The tragedy of Josh's career is not that he didn't make the most of it but that all too often he didn't play matches on his terms and to his own strengths.

What i don't get is the fact he used to play like this?!

Going back to around 2006-09 when Josh had some of the best results of his career (especially in 06 qualifying for both Wimby and the US) he was a very aggressive player and serve-volleying a lot? I don't understand what has happened in recent years to stop him from playing like this? It is a well know fact that Josh had very good volleys at this point in his career which also showed in all the doubles success shared with Ross Hutchins

If i could ask Josh one question, it would be, why did you ever stop serve volleying and coming in as often as you used to!!

SF: (8) Dan Cox WR 379 v (2) Jules Marie (FRA) WR 265 (CH 262 last week)

Dan beat Marie 4 & 2 in R2 on his way to the London-Cumberland Final this week last year (so could do with doing it again to maintain his ranking position on Monday week!)

Well, he's on his way:  *4-0 in the first! wink

Looks like they are playing again

Dan bagelled Jules in the first set, but has been broken at the start of the second set.

It was probably just very light rain and the doubles guys were happy to carry on

At 3*-5 down in the second, Dan has a major struggle to hold serve. But does.
And then breaks to love !!

5-5 - allez dan

An unfortunate Rice/Thornley DF at 6-6 in the MTB opened the way for the youngsters, who reeled off the next 3 points too to, take the MTB 10-6.

Happy for them though - they've been having a good few weeks, both in singles and doubles together. They seem to be having fun . . .
