Total respect for Dan C and what he has done over the last few weeks, but I really would have liked to see JWH win that one.
His time will come, no doubt.
Yes, I was quietly rooting for the youngster too (you couldn't call him the littl'un - he must be a good head taller than Dan C.)
But he's only 19, as you say, his time'll come and it's all looking good. Really exciting prospect. I get the feeling he's enjoying his doubles too - won the title last week and in the semis today.
Oh Josh, why couldn't you win matches like this earlier in the year, before you retired, instead of taking points away from Brits who might make long-term use of them He'd better beat Westerhof now to make up for it!
Still, maybe it will give us a bigger short-term 'number of players in the top 500' peak.

Two down one to go - but sadly, I need a knight in shining armour to ride in and take that final spot. It's not going to happen this week.
QF: (5) Dave Rice WR 380 lost to (1) Boy Westerhof (NED) WR 242 (CH 201 in 2012) by 6-4 7-6(5)
QF: (4) Josh Goodall WR 421 beat (6) Dan Smethurst WR 428 by 6-4 7-6(2)
QF: (8) Dan Cox WR 379 beat Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 769 by 6-3 4-6 7-5
QF: Liam Broady WR 779 lost to (2) Jules Marie (FRA) WR 265 (CH 262 last week) by 7-6(6) 6-4
SF: (4) Josh Goodall WR 421 v (1) Boy Westerhof (NED) WR 242 (CH 201 in 2012)
SF: (8) Dan Cox WR 379 v (2) Jules Marie (FRA) WR 265 (CH 262 last week)
Dan beat Marie 4 & 2 in R2 on his way to the London-Cumberland Final this week last year (so could do with doing it again to maintain his ranking position on Monday week!)

Josh: "Lol wait until I retire to do the tactic I should of been doing my whole career. #serve&volley #mixitup" d'oh!
That is actually a very sad tweet. The tragedy of Josh's career is not that he didn't make the most of it but that all too often he didn't play matches on his terms and to his own strengths.
