Liam v Josh went from 1-5 down in the 2nd to 4-6 6-0, either Liam caught fire or Josh lost his form entirely.
Still those pesky top seeds to be seen off, very close today so I'm hoping Ricey can send the Boy back West from where he came from and that Liam can take out Jules with a gold plated performance !
With Josh G and Josh W-H winning their respective 3rd sets 6-4, the position for top 500ers on Monday week is :
17 definite
2 already possible and definite if they win their QFs - Josh G here and Oli in Ausrria are now both on 64 points "in running", which looks to be right on the cusp of being top 500,
1 other potential - James Marsalek would go to 66 points if he won the title in Spain, which should almost certainly be enough for top 500 ( Richard Gabb's loss to JWH puts him out of the running ).
Oli has 2 points coming off on the following Monday 26/08 ( doesn't appear to have an entry for the relevant week ) and another 11 points after the US Open fortnight, so this could really be the week.

C'mon James !
Not 100% sure on the stats, but could have 13 inside top 400 and with Ashley and Josh M one reasonable result away from making it 15.
A good day all round for the kids, even if, by virtue of their seeding, they were favourites to win their doubles semi. Pleased for Darren & Joe, too:
QF: (1) David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 360 defeated Luke Bambridge & Toby Martin CR 1736 by 6-2 3-6 [10-6] QF: Joe Salisbury & Darren Walsh CR 1602 defeated Jules Marie & Matthieu Roy (FRA/FRA) CR 2050 by 4 & 2 QF: (4) Liam Broady & Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1294 defeated Alexander Jhun & Stefan Sterland-Markovic CR 2705 by 4-6 7-5 [10-7] QF: Josh Milton & Dan Smethurst CR 1542 defeated (WC) Jack Carpenter & Timothy Patient UNR by 6-7(6) 6-1 [10-7]

SF: (1) David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 360 vs Joe Salisbury & Darren Walsh CR 1602 SF: (4) Liam Broady & Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 1294 vs Josh Milton & Dan Smethurst CR 1542
NB Is it a record to have three (THREE !!!) Josh's all playing at the same time in the same tournament ?????
Could British men's tennis please arrange things so that no more Josh's are allowed ? Or only on condition that they change their names to Theodoricus or Nathaniel . . .or, in fact, John, Peter or Michael . . .
It's times like this when I wish I had thought of a better username when I first signed up all those years ago...
Oh Josh, why couldn't you win matches like this earlier in the year, before you retired, instead of taking points away from Brits who might make long-term use of them He'd better beat Westerhof now to make up for it!
Still, maybe it will give us a bigger short-term 'number of players in the top 500' peak.

Josh: "Lol wait until I retire to do the tactic I should of been doing my whole career. #serve&volley #mixitup" d'oh!
Dutch 'LTA': "Boy Westerhof eerste halve finalist op Future Chiswick. De lijstaanvoerder klopt David Rice, als vijfde geplaatst, met 6-4, 7-6 (5)"
I mean, I know it was straight sets, but I wouldn't call 4 & 6 a 'klopping' (I know what it means really ) - 'lijstaanvoerder' is quite a mouthful for 'top seed' isn't it
Dan: "Thrilled to get through today's battle! Semis tomorrow"
Also, a Lincolnshire Echo story about Dan, where he says he will take the next 2 weeks off and intends to try Challengers before the end of the summer: http://t.co/loUEVTfxav
Of course, Dan has now overtaken his career best 12-match winning streak, which ended in the QFs here 3 years ago.

NB After my rant about Joshs yesterday, I would like to say a personal thank you to the Hibbert side of Josh WH's family - without them we;d have Josh Ward, James Ward and Alex Ward !!!
(Dave was a break up but once again got broken back . . . 3-2*)
