RE: Week 32 - Great Britain F16 ($15,000) - Chiswick (Hard)

Brave and valiant effort from Adam there but he goes down 6-4 in the 3rd to Westerhof, who will now play Rice in the QF.

Het spijt me to my Dutch friends out there, but I can only see one winner of that one and it sure ain't the Nº1 seed !!

L16: (8) Dan Cox WR 379 def (Q) Sam Hutt WR 1565 6-3 6-3

All according to the rankings so far. Maybe Adam TB can change things ????

Dan Cox's win means he equals his best-ever Futures singles winning streak. His first 12-match streak was completed 3 years ago when, oddly enough, he went out in the QFs here having won Frinton and, as this year, Dublin.

NB Is it a record to have three (THREE !!!) Josh's all playing at the same time in the same tournament ?????

Could British men's tennis please arrange things so that no more Josh's are allowed ? Or only on condition that they change their names to Theodoricus or Nathaniel . . .or, in fact, John, Peter or Michael . . .

I can see a Dan Cox v David Rice final.

Would really like to see Broady and JWH win their second round matches.

I think and hope a certain Mr Hewitt might just have a say in the final

All credit to LLoyd who's got it back to 4-4 in the second.

Jules Marie has won a 15k this year, won 2 10ks and made the final in three others - not bad . . .

(Gabb a break up v JWH)

Josh G shows that age and experience can win the second set.

Lloyd G shows that youth and inexperience can do the same!

Third set for both . . .

If Evo had been playing here, we could have had 3 Dans playing first too!

And Josh WH and Liam both lose the second set too so it's third sets all round . . .

And, yes, Dan is second on my list of 'banned men's names'.
Katy/katie wins the 'banned girls' names' by a country margin. It's VERY confusing for my poor marbles . . . we don;t have THAT many tennis players and there's LOTS of names to go round, you'd think they could share them out a bit better . . . hmmmm

Quite right. I always blame the parents wink.

Maybe the LTA should have a 'forced re-naming' policy, part of taking out a licence ??? Maybe we could vote for names ? Or you could 'buy' them ? A new fund-raiser idea ???

Meanwhile . . .back at the ranch . . .Liam is 2 breaks up, Josh G and Richard one break up, and Lloyd (and JWH) a break down . ..

And paulisi has a good day smile  - after Liam raced through his third set, Josh WH has a longer, tougher battle but finally beats Richard Gabb 6-4, 1-6, 6-4
