More than struggling,

L32: Alex Slabinsky WR 604 lost to (Q) Sam Hutt WR 1565 6-2 6-4 (great point for Sam who went up 431 places last week)

Josh WH serving for the match (and with 8 aces and 6 out of 7 BP saved, his serves obviously on OK form today)

Ashley and George are one set all.

Toby at 2*-5 and nearly one set all there too.

L32: (3/WC) Ed Corrie WR 329 lost to Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 769  6-3 6-4

Josh Milton will be serving for the match next game (if he doesn't win it on this one)

Scoreboard gone haywire on Jack's match.

Serving for the set at *5-4 we are at deuce, but the scoreboard is already showing 6-4 to Jack  confuse

Edit

Damn. Now gone back to 5-5*

Dan S. finally clinches the first - very close.

Marcus won the first set 6-4 against richard.

All on serve in the others.

Right, that's the strategy . . .

NB Marcus Willis: 11 aces, 0 DF, no BP faced - now that's good serving . . . .

stoopid, stoopid - and out of nowhere Marcus serves 2 DF and gets broken disbelief

AND josh lets me down and lets Nys win the first set 6-4. disbelief AND Mark gets broken at the key moment disbelief

(David Porter winning his first set easily 6-2)

and to cap it all, Jack loses disbelief

Hugo Nys serves for the match but Josh breaks, for only the second time in the match.

5-5

*** Josh with 3 MP . . .

In the singles tomorrow, keen to see the result of:

Josh WH v Gabb (might be another upset for Josh)
Dan Cox v Sam Hutt ( Dan should win but I get the feeling he's beginning to feel the huge amount of tennis he's played in the last few weeks - heavy legs ? might be Sam's chance . . .)
Josh Milton v Liam - the WR are not really indicative; Liam has every chance.

As to the foreign contingent, I think Jules and Boy will still be around tomorrow evening. 'King Matthew of France' shouldn't last long though - Dan S. should see to that.

Lewis has really struggled since withdrawing injured a few weeks ago. The two big suprises so far are that Slabba and Ed are struggling

Slabba has been beaten by Sam Hutt, 2 & 4.

JWH is serving for the match vs Corrie, has so far hit 8 aces to Corrie's 1. That must have helped.

Dan Cox took the first but is *2-5 down in the second.

Hewitt-Coupland is one set all.

Yes it is a shame for Ed. Would love to see him do really well.  But JWH has massive potential as well and I am pleased for him as he has had a couple of tough draws recently.  So I am going to match your cry with a smile to give a sense of balance.

Agreed - i thought Ed had started to turn the corner with his qualifying exploits in the last couple of challengers, but that's a disappointing result. I still think he can make top 300, but not much more for now.

At least JWH has got some points on the board for a change. I wouldn't be suprised if he got past Gabb in the next round(assuming Gabb wins)
