Yes he is but if he wants the 5 points for qualifying he needs to win this match.
Personally I think it is a total joke that someone can go into final round qualifying knowing that they are assured of a lucky loser spot if they don't win the match. The system used for the futures tour is much better.

I deliberately didn't tag him on that one, if I remember right. LOL
However:
a) he'll have been completely aware of this without anyone needing to tell him
b) he might need those 5 points to stay ahead of Evo sometime soon
c) why bother to win a 12-game 1st set if you're not going for the qualifying points?
Of course, there is an argument that if it gets really tough (opponent playing well, etc), the player who already knows they are in the main draw might not fight quite as hard in a long FQR match as they otherwise would ... and he's now 1-3* down in the 3rd, so the match is slipping away fast.
