Week 32 - WTA Premier 5 - Toronto, Canada - Hard

Laura should be in the main draw here.

QR1: (q12) Heather Watson WR 76 v Olga Savchuk (UKR) WR 180 (CH 79 in 2008)

The winner will probably play (q19) Lara Arruabarrena (ESP) WR 90 (CH 70 in May) in the FQR - Hev beat her 6 & 4 in Tokyo last year.

Good draw for Heather - there were some dangerous players in the 13-24 batch of seeds (Martic, Riske, Ormaechea, McHale, Tatishvili, Garcia, Erakovic) so Arruabarrena being the best player in her section is something she won't mind at all.

IF she manages the win her opponent will be Lara Arruabarrena .

Not looking too good though *2-5 2cd set.

That's horrible. Even if she is making changes to her game to suffer a beat down by a player outside the top 150 is very very poor indeed. Olga hit 2 doubles from 40-0 in that last game too, she must have been super tight.

Having missed so much of the season she desperately needs matches and points, and this weekend was a golden chance for both. Very disappointing.

She said she was ready for a string of poor results while she tries new things, I hope she really meant it. That will have hurt.

Heather loses the first set 3 - 6

She is usually a slow starter so will be stronger in this next set, we hope!
