RE: Week 31 - ITF ($10K) - Nottingham, UK Hard

Eden Silva has taken the first set 6-2 against Jessica
Lucy is serving to stay in the first set 4*-5

Beth looks like picking up her first ITF point as she is 3-1 up second set.

Lucy ended up winning 3 games on the trot to take the first set 7-5 and has broken her opponent in the opening game

Sophie is a break up in the second set as is Eden.

Beth has been pegged back from 3-0 to 3-3

Nicole and Sabrina look like they may lose shortly.

The draw on both the LTA and ITF site has Askew up against top seed Inoue in round 2.

I see Steven also tweeted that Ana B-C was through so I guess it's been corrected some time this evening.

Yes, ITF livescores did it again ... the usual scenario, it shows the 2nd set over and a straight sets win then it turns out that it actually went to a 2nd set tiebreak and the other player ended up winning that and the deciding set.

I didn't find out until Amy Bowtell tweeted me ...

"@GBtennis Inoue won! Just msgd my dubs partner (belzunce) to say well done and got back "I actually lost" #awks"

Oops! disbelief Not my/our fault, but it has the potential to be very awkward and I wish they would sort this out!

Pippa won 6-3 6-2 and will be enough to get her onto the ranking list(3rd scorer and may be enough to get on Steven's table)

Nice to see Beth Askew also picking up her first ITF point.

Yes, as things stand, Pippa will enter the rankings with 6 points and GB =25th with Nicole Peterson (Sabrina Bamburac will drop to 5 points next Monday) ... and of course she beat her R2 opponent, Anna Smith, in straight sets in Wrexham qualifying last week!

Good to see Pippa finally ranked ( and maybe heading GB top 25 on Monday week ) after all her injury issues and education priorities.

She will be passing Sabrina for one, who finally drops out the top 25 next week after a very lean run.

Could this be the week when Mel gets herself out of this losing rut?

This being a 10K Mel should be one of the favourites to win it!!

10 GB players definitely through with Brigit the only GB v Non GB left to play. There should be a decent return of points for the GB girls. The top half of the draw looks particularly fruitful.

Fantastic win for Tiffany - second ranking point and a player that I rate very highly and will go a long way when she finishes uni.

I agree. Only seen small amounts here and there but she seems like a very good athlete, a powerful tennis player, very young, and the US obviously agreeing with her.
