Jo will play either (5) Kurumi Nara WR 110 or Stephanie Dubois WR 163 in the next round. Nara currently a set up there.

Very nice win for Jo.........I am a little worried about her net play though the few times she was either pulled in or went to the net she was either lobbed, passed or missed her volley, and did not win a single point at the net!

That's a really excellent win - very impressive scoreline

It is indeed Jo's best points haul since the US Open last year and will move her into the top 130 for the first time

In their two previous meetings Jo won in 2 at the US open last year and again won in 2 at Birmingham this year.

Nara it is in the SF. She's just won 7-5 6-1 against Dubois so:

This match is due on Grandstand (the court that Nara has been playing on) later

Great win for Jo, I suspect the day off did her no harm whatsoever. Now just has to back it up, against an opponent who should suit her. Was hoping that's Nara's match with Dubois would have been a 3 hour epic, but not to be.
